    *Born in Scarborough, Ontario.

    *Is currently the Athletic Director at Royal Crown Academic School, a private high school in Scarborough, Ontario.

    *Played for St. Mother Teresa Catholic Academy in Scarborough for his first two years in high school.

    *Following his time at Mother Teresa, went south of the border to pursue his basketball dream, turning heads at North Marion High School in West Virginia.

    *As a student-athlete, earned All-American nominations, won a state championship in West Virginia was an All-State team selection, and captured player-of-the-year awards.

    *Was named the West Virginia North Vs South All Star game MVP after scoring 40 points.

    *Was the first Canadian Guard to compete in the “Nike Hoop Summit” as a member of the World team in 2000…Played against a U.S. team with elite NBA talent that included players such as Zach Randolph, Jared Jeffries, and Darius Miles.

    *The Nike Hoop Summit is an annual international men’s basketball all-star game played by NBA superstar talent including players such as NBA Champions - Tony Parker, Dirk Nowitzki, Kyrie Irving, and Canadian-All-Star, Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets.

  • Professional Career

    *Exilus brings many years of experience as a player, an educator, and in coaching. 

    *Has trained and coached many NBA players such as Brandon Jennings, Stanley Johnson, Jordan Clarkson, and Kelly Olynyk to name a few. 

    *With that combination of experience in all those areas is what led to him being named Head Coach of the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the CEBL on April 18, 2022.

    *In an interview with the Canadian Press prior to the Shooting Star’s first ever game (May 26 at Guelph)– Coach Exilus said “A big part of coaching is leadership. But a big part of coaching is educating players on all levels, not just on the court but also off the court. So, I’ve had a lot of experience in doing both, which I think is really going to help me this season.”

    *Had the responsibility of leading the Shooting Stars in their inaugural-expansion season and along with his coaching staff, guided the team to a 12-8 record, finishing 3rd overall only behind Hamilton and Niagara. 

    *That 3rd place accomplishment allowed Scarborough to host a quarter-final match against Saskatchewan and the Shooting Stars would go on to win the battle by a score of 108-96. 

    *With that victory, Scarborough advanced to Championship Weekend in Ottawa with only four teams remaining in the CEBL’s 2022 Finals. 

  • Collegiate Career

    *Completed his basketball career as Captain of DePaul University’s Basketball team and went on to earn his master’s degree in education.

    *Participated in Conference USA Championship and the NCAA March Madness tournament with DePaul in the 2003-2004 season under Head Coach Dave Leito…The Blue Demon’s went 22-10 that season along with a 12-4 conference record. 

    *In that senior year of 2003-04, came off the bench and hit two key three-pointers to help DePaul defeat UAB 75-74 in the Conference USA semifinals. Exilus scored eight points in 15 minutes, both season highs.

    *The 2003-04 DePaul Blue Demons team defeated Dayton to advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament, where they lost to UConn. He played a total of 38 minutes in the tournament, ending with 11 points on 3-for-5 shooting.

    *Prior to his transfer to Dvision-1 DePaul, played basketball for Virginia Tech (Big East) in his freshman year during the 2000-2001 season…Appeared in 27 games (14 as a starter).
