J Cole signs with the Scarborough Shooting Stars

The Scarborough Shooting Stars Basketball Club of the Canadian Elite Basketball League announced Friday that they have signed 6'3 guard, J Cole to a standard player contract ahead of the 2022 season. Cole last played in the Basketball Africa League in 2021 for thee Patriots Basketball Club based out of Rwanda.


Cole's first game will be against the Guelph Nighthawks on May 26 at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph, Ont.


The CEBL begins its fourth season May 25. Tickets to all games are available now at CEBL.ca/tickets. All games will be streamed live internationally on the CEBL’s OTT platform, CEBL+. and on the CEBL Mobile app for iOS and Android devices. Games will also be available to stream live in Canada via cbcsports.ca, the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices, and the free CBC Gem streaming service.

A league created by Canadians for Canadians, the CEBL has the highest percentage of Canadian players of any professional league in the country, with 71 percent of its current rosters being Canadians. Players bring experience from the NBA, NBA G League, top international leagues, the Canadian National team program, and top NCAA programs as well as U SPORTS.
