    • Full name is Kyle John Solomon Alexander.
    • Was born in Scarborough, Ontario to parents Joseph Alexander and Audrey Alexander on October 21, 1996.
    • His father, Joseph, was a basketball player at Niagara, which influenced Kyle’s decision to pursue basketball as a career.
    • Has two older sisters, Kayla and Kesia. Kyle’s older sister, Kayla, is a professional basketball player with the Minnesota Lynx.
    • Kyle and Kayla are the only Canadian siblings who have signed WNBA and NBA contracts.
    • Was a two-time first-team All-Big East standout at Syracuse and is the school’s all-time best scorer and shot blocker.
    • Played hockey at a young age. Also played soccer and volleyball before converting to basketball in his junior year in high school.
    • Was a roommate with Jamal Murray in his 2014-15 academic year.
    • Was one of just 24 players chosen to compete in the 2015 BioSteel All-Canadian Basketball Game, which took place in Toronto.
  • Professional Career

    • Signed by the Scarborough Shooting Stars on May 16, 2022.
    • Appeared in four games for Team Canada in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers that took place earlier this year in March…Averaged 6.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists over those four contests with Canada. 
    • In the early moments of his first game of the 2023 FIBA competition against Bahamas, had his feet taken out on a defensive rebound attempt and landed awkwardly. Not only did he stay in the game but finished with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, grabbed nine rebounds, and had three assists – all for triples.
    • Has been with the Fuenlabrada in the Spanish Liga ACB since 2019. 
    • In 57 games over that period with Fuenlabrada has averaged 9.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.5 blocks. 
    • Earlier this year, on March 19, established a career high 30 points in a game against UCAM Murcia. 
    • Selected as Canada’s Basketball Toyota Player of the Week for the week from December 6-12, 2021. 
    • Began his NBA career with the Miami Heat’s 2019 Summer League after being undrafted. 
    • Was then waived by the Heat on October 19, 2019, before receiving a two-way contract from the Club on January 15, 2020.
    • Played with Miami’s G-League team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the 2019 season before signing the two-way contract. Averaged 10.6 points and 9.0 rebounds/game over 23 contests with Sioux Falls. 
    • On November 25, 2019, with the Skyforce (G-League), tied his career high in a game with 17 in a loss against South Bay. 
    • Suffered a knee-injury shortly after signing his two-way deal with the Heat.
    • Made his NBA debut in the “Orlando Bubble” on August 6, 2020, where he played one minute off the bench and recorded one rebound in a 130-116 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
  • Collegiate Career

    • Played four seasons with the Tennessee Volunteers from 2015-2019. 
    • Is the 2nd leading shot blocker in Tennessee history with 185 (C.J. Black is 1st with 212).
    • Named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2015-16 and played 32 games for the Vols during his freshman year.
    • Made his first career field goal on an offensive rebound and put-back against Army West Point in the 2nd half of that contest. 
    • Began his sophomore season with a career-high seven points, eight rebounds, four blocks, and a steal against Chattanooga, earning him a starting spot.
    • During Tennessee’s three-game European exhibition trip, Kyle was the team’s second-leading rebounder, grabbing 9.0 rebounds per game.
    • Grabbed a game-high nine rebounds in only 18 minutes of action in a win vs. Kansas State on January 28, 2017. 
    • Ranked 6th in the SEC with 2.50 offensive rebounds and the 9th with 1.68 blocks per game during the 2017-2018 season. 
    • His .679 shooting % that year placed 18th in Division I among players who attempted at least two field goals each game.
    • During his senior year, he notched 7.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 23.8 minutes in each game and assisted the team to the Sweet 16.
