Michael Foster Jr. Joins Scarborough Shooting Stars Ahead of Season Stretch Run

July 27, 2025

The Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Sunday that they have signed 6-foot-10 forward Michael Foster Jr., bringing a dominant frontcourt presence to the team as they gear up for the final leg of the regular season.

A Milwaukee native, Foster joins the Shooting Stars with four years of professional experience across the NBA, NBA G League, Puerto Rico’s BSN, and the G League Ignite program. Over 155 professional games, he has totaled 1,821 points, 1,089 rebounds, 289 assists, 116 steals, and 230 blocks—averaging 11.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 55.7% from two-point range and over 51% from three.

Foster most recently suited up for the Capital City Go-Go, where he averaged 10.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 2024–25 while shooting 42.1% from beyond the arc. His versatile frontcourt skill set, and rim protection are expected to make an immediate impact for a Scarborough squad still eyeing a spot at Championship Weekend 2025 (CW25).

Foster joins a strong Shooting Stars core featuring Kalif Young, Cat Barber, Terquavion Smith, and the recently returned Donovan Williams, who is back with the team following his Summer League stint. Scarborough (8–10) currently sits just ahead of the Montreal Alliance (7–11) in the play-off race and has a chance to create critical separation with a road win today.

The team had an opportunity to clinch its postseason spot this past Friday against Brampton but fell short. With the play-off picture tightening, Foster’s addition could provide the edge Scarborough needs to punch its ticket to CW25.

The Shooting Stars are back in action this afternoon, Sunday, July 27, as they face off against the Montreal Alliance at Verdun Auditorium. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET in what promises to be a pivotal matchup with postseason implications.
