Scarborough Nearly Pulls Out Target Time Thriller
Shooting Stars move to 4-1 after close 90-88 loss

For a second it felt like they were going to do it again. Trailing 85-88 to the Saskatoon Rattlers and the Target Score set at 90. Shooting Stars forward Javan Johnson knocked down his fourth three of the night to bring the score to 88 - and next bucket wins territory.
Scarborough got a stop and it looked like the league's leading scorer in Myles Powell was going to cap off their fifth straight comeback victory. His shot attempt didn’t fall, Saskatoon got out on the fast break, Mamba forward Tevian Jones got fouled on a layup attempt, hit both free throws and the Mamba picked up the win.
Scarborough still emerged from this west road trip with a 4-1 record, but considering the Mamba were 1-4 heading into this matchup and Scarborough led by 10 points at halftime… It was the most winnable game of their season so far.
The game got away from them in the third quarter when starting guards Myles Powell and Kellen Tynes both picked up their fourth fouls. Tynes was doing a great job on Mamba guard Tavian Dunn-Martin but once Tynes checked out, Dunn-Martin was able to add to his game high 23 points. Powell is the clear go-to scorer for the Shooting Stars, but was unavailable for much of the second half plus a tough 6-20 shooting night.
Frank Mitchell had a monster game posting 21 points and 10 rebounds, his third double-double in five games for the league's leading rebounder (10.6 per game). Charles Bediako who was matched up against his older brother Jaden, recorded seven rebounds and 10 points on 5-5 shooting - which lands him atop the league lead for FG% this season (82.6).
Scarborough forward Phoenyx Wyse played a season high 16:36 minutes, posting six rebounds and two steals. The energy and defense intensity from the 18 year old has been strong all season and is being rewarded with more minutes from head coach Tyrell Vernon.
Next Up: The Scarborough Shooting Stars take on the Calgary Surge in their
