Scarborough Loses Ugly One to Ottawa
Shooting Stars Blow Two Late Leads - Fall to 10-2

The Scarborough Shooting Stars fell 88-86 to the Ottawa Blackjacks on Tuesday night in Ottawa.
Like most games during this magical 10-2 start to the season, Scarborough took an early lead in the first quarter and held a 10-12 lead over the Blackjacks for most of the game. With eight minutes left to play, Scarborough led 75-63.
But without the league's second leading scorer in Myles Powell in action, Scarborough struggled to know who to go to for a bucket. The offense slowed down to Javan Johnson threes off the dribble and Frank Mitchell post ups.
Johnson had a great game from three - 24 points on 6-10 from three and Mitchell played well too - 13 points and 12 rebounds. But Ottawa keyed in on them down the stretch, forcing turnovers and difficult shots. Blackjack forward Alex Fudge had a fantastic game, posting 22 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Despite all the momentum Ottawa was creating, Scarborough still led 86-82 and were one point away from a Target Time winner. But 0/4 from the field was their undoing. A combined 0-7 from the free throw line from Charles Bediako and Anthony Walker throughout the game hurts a little more knowing the outcome.
Positives were that Khalil Miller had his best game of the season, posting 10 points and 6 rebounds, including going 2-3 from three for the 6’8 forward. Guard Kellen Tynes had 11 points and 4 assists off the bench and Akoi Yuot was a game high +16 when he was on the floor.
Next up: The Scarborough Shooting Stars are back at home to take on the Brampton Honey Badgers on Saturday night. Tip off is set for 7 pm at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre
